| The Campaign for Female Education (Camfed) is dedicated to fighting poverty and AIDS in rural communities in Africa by educating girls. Back in 1993, Camfed began with supporting 32 girls in rural Zimbabwe . In 2006, 300,900 children benefited from Camfed’s efforts of educational support in some of the poorest regions of Zimbabwe , Zambia , Ghana and Tanzania . But Camfed isn’t about numbers, but about the impact on individuals’ lives. In the communities we’ve touched in Africa , we are proud to say that Camfed has; · Helped Reduced Poverty · Limited the Spread of HIV/AIDS and · Created a Sustainable Cycle of Empowerment |
